These contributions encompass academic research publications in books, reports and articles, as well as selected opinion pieces and insights from presentations. Each piece addresses different dimensions of collective consciousness and what is required to restore coherence. They explore how fragmentation inhabits systems, cultures, and organisations, and how meaning, as embodied within collective inner experience, moves across histories, languages, and geographies.

Human agency does not emerge independently of the conditions people inhabit. This research presents a framework for understanding how agency forms under conditions of constraint, and how inner and outer realities shape action, participation, and transformation in contexts of poverty and armed conflict. It explores the role of consciousness in human development and its relationship to agency, empowerment, and the search for justice.

Embedding Theory U and Awareness-based Practices within Higher Education
What shapes collective outcomes is not only what we do, but the condition from which we act. This chapter draws on Theory U, showing how awareness-based work supports new forms of learning and collaboration in higher education.

How trauma — personal, collective, ancestral — reverberates through communities, strengthening their powers
Not all knowledge is visible or measurable. Some of what shapes our lives is carried in memory, sensation, and inherited experience. This interview-based piece explores how trauma — personal, collective, and ancestral — continues to move through communities, and the need to engage forms of knowing that go beyond the purely rational.

We've evolved a lot in our intellectual understanding. But our inner evolution got stuck somehow.
Leading with an open heart
Leadership today requires more than performance. It demands a shift in how we relate, perceive, and respond within systems under pressure. This interview explores leadership as a relational and inner practice — how awareness, vulnerability, and the capacity to pause shape more coherent and sustainable ways of leading in complex environments.

Healing Collective Trauma — The Inner Pillar for Rebuilding Trust in Peru
Rebuilding trust requires more than institutional change. It asks us to look at what shapes how we relate, perceive, and respond to one another. This piece explores how collective trauma continues to influence trust in Peru, and why restoring it is not only a structural task, but an inner and relational one.

Could the Inner Development Goals accelerate sustainability in Peru?

This article explores how the Inner Development Goals can accelerate sustainable development by strengthening the capacities required to navigate complexity, build trust, and align individual and collective action.

Cognitive Skills Within the Inner Development Goals Framework

Liminality: Change Starts Within
Change does not always happen through action. It often begins in the space in between — where what we know no longer holds and what is emerging is not yet clear. This article explores liminal space as a lived experience of transformation, where uncertainty, inner perception, and different ways of knowing become central to how individuals and systems evolve.

Embodied Experiential Learning: Cultivating Inner Peace in Higher Education
Learning for peace cannot rely on cognition alone — it requires engaging experience, expression, and the body. This article explores how embodied and experiential learning was integrated into higher education, showing how awareness-based practices and diverse forms of expression enable students to access inner peace, work with fragmentation, and develop deeper ways of knowing.

Engendering Transitional Justice: A Transformative Approach to Building Peace and Attaining Human Rights for Women
Women experience violence across a continuum that extends before, during and after conflict. In our research, we argue that justice cannot be achieved through legal accountability alone, but requires transforming the psychosocial, socioeconomic and political conditions that sustain inequality and exclusion. This article has contributed to global policy discussions and has been cited by UN Women (see Advancing Gender Equality through Legislative Reform, 2026) and other international institutions. It explores a transformative approach to justice that recognises women not only as survivors of violence but also as active agents in rebuilding relationships, institutions and the foundations of a sustainable peace.
